Mr. Charles Henry Silson – 04/06/2026

Charles (Charlie) Henry Silson passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by love. Born and raised in East York, he remained a proud and well-known presence in the community throughout his life. He was a deeply loved partner, husband, brother, brother in law, uncle, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and his loss will be felt by all who knew him.

Charlie was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jennette ; his parents, Charles and Anne-Marie Silson; his stepdaughter, Sandra Alger; his brother, Robert; and his sisters, Merle, Katherine and Betty.

He is lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Timothy Contois and Darlene Alger; his great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Jessica, Angelica, and Darren and their partners; his great-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ezekiel; as well as his nieces and nephews; and his beloved partner of over 20 years, Cathy Cole, and her family.

Charlie was a dedicated roofer and the owner of C. Silson Roofing, serving his community with pride for many years. A dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 11, where he was awarded Life membership in 2022 and formed many lasting friendships and remained actively involved.

Charlie will be remembered for his love of life, especially enjoying a good game of poker or cornhole, and relaxing with a cigar and a beer.

In keeping with Charlie’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 22, 1240 Woodbine Ave, East York, ON on June 6, 2026 from 1 pm-4 pm.

Charlie will be missed more than words can express.
