Beaches Spring Sprint goes this morning along the Boardwalk

The annual Beaches Spring Sprint takes place this morning along the Boardwalk.
The Saturday, April 11, run is the 40th Annual Beaches Spring Sprint. The run raises funds for the Beaches Recreation Centre.
The Beaches Spring Sprint features a timed five-kilometre walk or run, giving serious runners the chance to use their time in other runs. The event is also for anyone who would like to participate recreationally as there is a two-kilometre kids run, and a two kilometre walk.
The runs and walks start and finish in front of the Leuty Pavilion on the Boardwalk, near the foot of Lee Avenue.
Registration is finished for today’s run, and close to 500 people are signed up to take part. There is no registration for the event today, it had to be done in advance.
However, community members are encouraged to come and cheer the participants and show their support for the Beaches Recreation Centre.
Start times for this morning are staggered with the five-kilometre run and five-kilometre walk set to begin at 9:30 a.m.; immediately followed by the two-kilometre seniors walk at 9:30 a.m.; and finishing with the two-kilometre kids run starting at 10 a.m.
