Nothing But Blondie and Stop Making Sense tribute shows set for The Duke this Saturday

The Duke Live, located at 1225 Queen St E, is presenting a double bill show on Saturday, April 11 at 8:30 p.m., paying tribute to Blondie and Talking Heads.

The show will feature a return of performances by Stop Making Sense (Talking Heads) and Nothing But Blondie tributes, which was also performed in mid-August last year at The Duke.

After the previous year’s positive reception, OutShout Entertainment is bring back Stop Making Sense and Nothing But Blondie to The Duke. Last month, OutShout Entertainment was also at The Duke with The Bowie Lives tribute.

“This Must Be The Place and Psycho Killer, you know, they are some of my favourites,” said Michael Bell of Outshout Entertainment.

“This Must Be The Place was literally the first song I bought of Talking Heads when it first came out in the market. And, of course, Psycho Killer was a big, big hit and I did it in cover bands when I was a kid,” said Bell who also be performing in the Stop Making Sense show. Bell also performed in The Bowie Lives show.

Saturday’s nights performances at The Duke open with Stop Making Sense followed by Nothing But Blondie. Doors open at 7 p.m., and attendees must be over 19 years old.

Nothing But Blondie features Jaclyn Serre as Blondie, and will close the night with Blondie’s biggest hits and audience-included sing-alongs.

“We’ve been putting it together for about a year now, and we did a show the end of last summer at The Duke. Same show. Went really well,” said Bell.
