Final chance to sign-up for this year’s Beaches Spring Sprint is today and tomorrow

Taking place this Saturday morning, the last chance to register for those planning on taking part in the annual Beaches Spring Sprint will be today and tomorrow.

Registration is only accepted on an in-person basis prior to the event, and sign-ups are set for Tuesday, April 7, and Wednesday, April 8, at the Beaches Recreation Centre at 6 Williamson Rd. Times for registrations today and tomorrow are from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Upon registration, participants will receive a coupon for a burger or hot dog at Beaches N’ Cream as well as a T-shirt for the event, while supplies last. Registration is only available at the listed times and dates, and not on the day of the event.

The registration fee is $30, in cash or by cheque.

The Beaches Spring Sprint has been a tradition in the community going back to the mid 1980s, and is a fundraiser in support of programs at the Beaches Recreation Centre.

The event is made up of a timed five-kilometre run for competitive participants, and also a two-kilometre walk for recreational participants and a two-kilometre run for kids.

The runs and walk start and finish at the Leuty Pavilion on the Boardwalk.
