Scarborough Southwest federal byelection 2026: Advance polls remain open today until 9 p.m.

Students may have the day off today, but some local schools have been serving as polling stations all weekend.
Advance polls for the Scarborough Southwest federal byelection are open now until 9 p.m (Monday, April 6). Voters will have received a Voter Identification card with advance poll and Election Day information, which varies by postal code.

For those voting on Election Day, Monday, April 13, the polls will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Candidates running in this Scarborough Southwest federal byelection are Doly Begum for the Liberal Party; Diana Filipova of the Conservative Party; April Francisco, Independent; Peter Koubakis, People’s Party of Canada; Pooja Malhotra from the Green Party; Lyall Sanders for the Centrist Party; Fatima Shaban from the New Democratic Party; and David Vedova of the Christian Heritage Party.
Along with Scarborough Southwest, University-Rosedale in Toronto and Terrebonne, an off-island suburb of Montreal, are also holding byelections next Monday.
