Beaches Easter Parade set for this afternoon along Queen Street East

The Toronto Beaches Lions Club annual Beaches Easter Parade takes place this afternoon.
The parade is on Sunday, April 5, starting at 2 p.m. at Queen Street East and Victoria Park Avenue. There will be more than 65 participating groups in this year’s parade, which is the 60th annual.
Participants include a number of marching bands, numerous community groups, sports clubs and organizations, and, of course, the Easter Bunny.
The parade travels thorough the length of Queen Street East in the Beach, starting at Victoria Park Avenue and then heading west to Woodbine Avenue where it turns south and ends at Kew Beach Avenue.
The Beaches Easter Parade has been a community tradition since 1967, and the parade has been organized by the Lions Club since 1973.
Local residents should expect road closures in the area today along Queen Street East. Closures along Queen Street East will be: Munro Park Avenue to Fallingbrook Road (partial, 10 a.m. to noon); Woodbine Avenue to Fallingbrook Road (full, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.).
Also, Woodbine Avenue from Queen Street East to Lake Shore Boulevard East; and Lake Shore Boulevard East from Woodbine Avenue to Coxwell Avenue (full, 2 to 4:30 p.m.).
