Man, 21, charged in connection with fatal East York stabbing

A 21-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing death of a man in East York last week.

In a news release yesterday, Toronto police said Pratik Parajuli Thapa, 21, had been arrested and charge with second degree murder.

On the night of Wednesday, March 25, Toronto police were called to the area of Gamble and Donlands avenue. When officers arrived a man was located with stab wounds, and pronounced deceased.

At the time, police said a suspect had fled the area and an investigation by the homicide squad was underway.

The victim was identified by police the next day as Ahmed Hassan Asif, 27.
