Seniors Active Living Fair featured workshops, presentations and wellness information

Centre 55 recently hosted its annual Seniors Active Living Fair at Beaches Sandbox on Queen Street East.
The March 12 event was focused on seniors’ health, wellness and community, providing information on resources available to seniors.
“It’s very important because a lot of times, especially with seniors, they might not have the same knowledge or connections, or even just know how to Google things for themselves. So this gives them the opportunity for people to come to them and share what’s available to them, so they can live longer, independently in our communities,” said Centre 55 Program Director Jade Maitland.
There were two cooking workshops, four active living presentations, and workshops on cyber safety, mindfulness, organization, and hearing.
There were 30 exhibitors offering information about the services they provide. Exhibitor tables offered information pamphlets, goodie bags and chances to win a prize by spinning the wheel.
