In Photos: Winter scenes from Woodbine Beach and Woodbine Park

By KAT BERGERON
Along the Woodbine Beach Boardwalk and throughout Woodbine Park to the north, the snow has transformed the landscape. While this winter has been challenging due to the extreme amount of snow and frigid temperatures, places in the Beach are sparkling in the sun where snow is untouched and some areas look brand new.
In the fall, it was green and lush along the paths as leaves were beginning to change. Now, it is bright and there is deep snow everywhere. If you venture off of the paths now, it may be a challenge to navigate.
In Woodbine Park the pond with the fountain could be mistaken for a snow-covered field. Even with the signs up, people have walked on the ice.
Whether the winter ends soon like Wiarton Willie predicted or the winter stays longer, remember that spring officially begins on Friday, March 20, which is less than one month away.
But before that day arrives, we can expect winter weather to continue to be a part of life in the Beach as more snow is expected to fall tonight and into Wednesday morning.
Here are more of Kat Bergeron’s photos of some of the snowy scenes in the Woodbine Beach/Woodbine Park area along with a couple of photos from the fall to remind you that trees do have leaves, water isn’t always frozen, and there’s grass somewhere under all that snow:
