Woodbine Beach welcomes Winter Stations exhibits with opening ceremonies today

Crest is designed by the University of Waterloo team of Clay te Bokkel, Isabella Ieraci, Matthew Lam, Sasha Rao, Simon Huang, Oskar Peng, and David Shen.

Winter Stations on Woodbine Beach officially opens today.

The Family Day opening ceremonies are set for 10:45 a.m., near the Donald D. Summerville Olympic Pools, on Monday, Feb. 16.

After speeches by dignitaries, a tour of the five winning installations for this year with four of the artists/teams will take place starting at 11 a.m.

This year’s winning designs are Embrace – (Will Cuthbert; Canada), Crest – (Clay te Bokkel, Isabella Ieraci, Matthew Lam, Sasha Rao, Simon Huang, Oskar Peng, and David Shen; University of Waterloo), Specularia – (TORNADO SOUP: Andrew Clark; United States), CHIMERA – (Denys Horodnyak; Ukraine, and Enzo Zak Luz; Germany), and Glaciate – (Finn Ferrall, Nicholas Kisil, Marko Sikic, and faculty supervisor Vincent Hui; Toronto Metropolitan University, Department of Architectural Science, in collaboration with Ming Chan University; Taiwan).
