East end of Gardiner Expressway, southern part of Don Valley Parkway to be closed this weekend

East Toronto residents need to be aware of Don Valley Parkway and Gardener Expressway closures happening from Friday Jan. 30 at 11 p.m. to Monday, Feb. 2 at 5 a.m.
The closures will be for ongoing Ontario Line subway construction, as well as coordinated road maintenance and survey work by the City of Toronto.
For the weekend, of Jan. 30 to Feb. 2, the Don Valley Parkway will close southbound from Bayview Avenue, and the closure will continue onto the Gardiner Expressway westbound until Lower Jarvis Street..
The Gardiner will also be closed eastbound from Bay Street through to Eastern Avenue and onto the Don Valley Parkway northbound.
Access to the Gardiner on-ramps eastbound at Rees and Bay streets will be blocked, with the westbound on-ramp from Lower Jarvis Street remaining open.
For the Don Valley Parkway, a southbound detour will be in place, connecting to Bayview Avenue, Gerrard Street East. and Jarvis Street.
Additionally, Don Valley Parkway access to the northbound Don Roadway ramp will be closed, with a northbound detour using Jarvis Street and Queen Street East.
As part of the planned work, a section of the new Lower Don Bridge that will carry Ontario Line trains will be moved into its location.
The completed bridge will span 120 metres. The bridge is being assembled prior to its transport, with the intent to limit the traffic disruptions beyond scheduled work.
