Deja Views: A look back at the beloved Beach Fire Hall in dedication to photographer Ann Patterson

The photo above was taken by Ann Patterson in the 1970s or 1980s and shows the Beach Fire Hall on Queen Street East just east of Woodbine Avenue.

Recently I came across some old negatives given to me from Ann Patterson.

She and her husband ran a camera/photo store on Queen Street East in the 1970s and ’80s. Ann loved photography and often on her lunch break would take a stroll with her camera and snap a ‘Beaches’ pic or two. On this occasion, it was of our beloved fire hall (shown in the photo above).

Today, it is not so prominent due to the condo, but people have to live somewhere and Queen and Woodbine is a great place to dwell. I lived there myself for a couple years in the mid 1990s.

Sadly, Ann passed away several years ago. In her memory I dedicate this installment of Deja Views.
