I Love to SING! to host free singing classes for kids starting this month in East Toronto

The I Love to SING! winter session, for kids ages 8 to 16 who want to learn singing while having fun, will begin this coming weekend in East Toronto.
Presented by SING! The Toronto International Vocal Arts Festival, the free I Love to SING! program takes place on selected Saturdays from Jan. 10 through to May 23.
The classes, which run from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., are slated to take place at Centre 55 at 97 Main St., just south of Gerrard Street East.
Now in its third year, I Love to SING! has welcomed kids to regular free sessions, including providing two performance opportunities in the main SING! festival events.
The program gives every young person a forum to express themselves, learn the art of melody, harmony, blending voices, and stage and performance technique. Several outstanding vocal professionals, including Gospel recording artists Latoya Hall Downer and renowned singers Joseph Angelo and Allison Angelo lead the interactive sessions.
The mentorship provided by the program leaders who are role models in the community demonstrates to participants the possibilities of a music career path. Through the clinics, participants learn to work with others from different spaces and backgrounds, learn to respect each other as individuals, and grow their artistry.
