Man sought after taxi driver allegedly assaulted near Woodbine and Danforth avenues

Toronto police are looking for a man after a taxi driver was allegedly sprayed with a noxious substance on the night of Dec. 12.

Toronto police are seeking to identify a man wanted in connection with the alleged assault of a taxi driver in the East Toronto area earlier this month.

Police said the man is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon and administer noxious substance.

On Friday, Dec. 12, at approximately 10 p.m. police were called to the Woodbine and Danforth avenues area for a reported assault.

According to police, a man and a taxi driver became involved in an argument over a fare. The man allegedly sprayed the victim with a noxious substance and then fled the area, police said.

The suspect is described as five-feet, six-inches tall with a medium build and clean shaven. He was wearing a bright green hooded sweater, black pants and carrying a black backpack, police said.

An image has been released by police in the hopes that someone can identify the suspect.

Police are looking to identify this man in connection with an investigation into an alleged assault on a taxi driver in the area of Woodbine and Danforth avenues on the night of Dec. 12.
