The Duke on Queen Street East hosts benefit show for Abuse Hurts organization featuring The Mid-Century Modernes

There will be some great music for a great cause this Saturday, Dec. 27, The Duke on Queen Street East.
The Mid-Century Modernes will be bringing their high energy performance to the legendary tavern and event space on the southwest corner of Leslie Street and Queen Street East for a benefit show in support of the Abuse Hurts organization.
Saturday’s performance takes place from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Duke, 1225 Queen St. E.
Along with the music, those attending are asked to bring donations of clothing and other essential items such as winter coats, housewares and gift cards. Abuse Hurts is a national, charitable organization dedicated to reducing the impact and incidence of abuse through awareness, education, and direct support.
The Mid-Century Modernes cover a set list ranging from The Beatles, to the Rolling Stones, to Neil Young, David Bowie, Queen and many, many more. Band members are Lynda Kraar, Jaime Valentine, Doug McClement, Rob Andrews and Kevin Bell.
There is a $10 cover charge for Saturday’s show at The Duke. However, in recognition of the good work they do for those served by Abuse Hurts, admission will be free for police officers, firefighters, EMTs and military members attending in uniform.
Along with collecting of donations, there will also be raffle for Rock of Ages tickets and a gift basket at Saturday’s event.
