Police seek man in connection with alleged assault and theft near Gerrard and Woodfield

Toronto police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with an alleged assault and theft last Saturday.

Police responded to a call for an assault on Saturday, Nov.15, at approximately 4:43 p.m. in the Gerrard Street East and Woodfield Road area.

Police alleged the suspect and victim had a verbal dispute. The suspect then allegedly assaulted the victim, and stole their cell phone, police said.

The suspect is wanted for charges of assault and theft under $5,000.

The suspect is described as six-foot-two, in his 40s with a muscular build and dreadlocks. He was wearing a toque, glasses, a red hoodie with a black jacket and black pants.

Police have released a photo of the suspect in the hopes that someone will be able to identify him.
