Police officer charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle in connection with incident near Danforth and Greenwood avenues

A Toronto police officer has been arrested and criminally charged with dangerous operation as a result of an incident connected to the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in East Toronto earlier this year.

According to a news release issued by Toronto police on the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 12, the officer was arrested and charged that day in connection with alleged incidents that took place during the pursuit.

According to the news release, a Toronto Police Service officer was involved in a pursuit of a stolen vehicle in the Danforth and Greenwood avenues area at approximately 4:33 p.m. on Jan. 8 of this year.

During the pursuit, police alleged an officer drove at speeds exceeding the posted residential speed limit and failed to stop at multiple controlled intersections. During the pursuit, police alleged an officer’s vehicle collided with another police vehicle responding to the same incident and the suspect vehicle.

Paolo Deluca, 33, has been charged with dangerous operation of a conveyance.
