East End Parents 4 Public Education is inviting local families and supporters to a rally on Saturday, Oct. 18, highlighting school funding and safety issues.

The community gathering will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robertson Parkette, 1555 Danforth Ave., southwest corner of Danforth and Coxwell avenues.

The organizers will be using the gathering to discuss the need for more school funding, and school zone speed cameras.

Those attending will be able to connect and learn how they can take action for schools, childcare and road safety.

The gathering comes after calls to the provincial government to increase funding to public education.

Saturday’s gathering also aims to put pressure on the provincial government to reverse its stand on removing speed cameras from roads across Ontario.

“Join organizers from East End Parents 4 Public Education and local families. Connect and learn how we can take action for public schools, childcare, and road safety,” said the organizers.

The event will be child friendly with arts and crafts, and snacks available.
