Nicholas Campbell and The Meter Cheaters to take the stage at Acoustic Harvest this Saturday

Nicholas Campbell and The Meter Cheaters are set to perform at Acoustic Harvest in Scarborough on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The concert will be taking place at St Paul’s United Church, 200 McIntosh St., starting at 8 p.m.
Coming out of Peterborough, Nicholas Campbell, at 20 years old, blends classic 1950s rock’n’roll, with a twanging honky tonk and rockabilly.
Backed by his band, The Meter Cheaters, he brings a fresh edge to a nostalgic sound. Following the release of his second album, Gonna Have a Ball Tonight, Campbell and the band have been touring steadily Highlights for the band this year have included working with Chris Spedding on a tribute to Robert Gordon call A Rockabilly Boogie; and opening for The Jim Cuddy Band.
“His voice, his playing and his energy are already winning over audiences and veteran musicians alike,” said Lillian Wauthier, artistic director of Acoustic Harvest of Campbell.
She said fans will want to see Campbell and his band perform now in such as intimate venue as St. Paul’s United Church while they have the chance.
“In our 28 years, we’ve had the privilege of introducing artists like Serena Ryder, Stephen Fearing, and Suzie Vinnick before they became household names. Nicholas is cut from the same cloth,” said Wauthier.
Advance tickets can be found online for $35, or bought at the door for $40.
Acoustic Harvest is a volunteer-led music series, specializing in folk, roots and acoustic. The concert venue at St. Paul’s has become a staple in the community, offering an immersive musical experience, and a chance to better connect with musicians.
