This Torstar archive photo from 1977 shows the St. John Norway Cemetery.

People have been dying to get into St. John’s Norway Cemetery for more than 170 years!

This final resting place is located at the northwest corner of Kingston Road and Woodbine Avenue in the former town of Norway.

In the background of this photo, taken in 1977, is St. John the Baptist Norway Anglican Church which was established in the mid 1890s. I looked carefully and in 48 years the only change I’ve noticed is the cellular base station located on top of the church tower.

Do you have an old photo of the church you’d like to share?
