Toronto Beaches one win away from clinching second round Ontario Junior Lacrosse League playoff series against Whitby

After winning last night’s game against the Whitby Warriors, the Toronto Beaches Junior A lacrosse team are one win away from a spot in the Iroquois Cup finals.
The Beaches won Game Five in their best-of-seven Ontario Junior Lacrosse League (OJLL) second round playoff series 9-4 over the Warriors in a game played at the Pickering Recreation Complex (1867 Valley Farm Dr.) on Monday, July 28.
With the win, the Beaches take a 3-2 lead in the series.
Game Six in the series will be played at Whitby’s Iroquois Park Sports Centre, 500 Victoria St. W., at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30.
Heading into last night’s game, the Beaches and Warriors were tied at two wins each in the series. Stepping out of the arena later that night, the Beaches are potentially one game closer to clinching a spot in the OJLL championship (Iroquois Cup) finals.
Also battling for a spot in the Iroquois Cup finals are the Orangeville Northmen and the Peterborough Lakers.
If necessary, Game Seven in the Beaches and Warriors series will be at the Pickering Recreation Complex at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 31. The Beaches home playoff games are taking place in Pickering as the ice is now back in Ted Reeve Arena, which was the team’s regular season home.
