Youth fatally stabbed near Queen and Coxwell identified as 14-year-old Abdoul Aziz Sarr

Toronto police have identified the male youth who was fatally stabbed on Saturday evening as 14-year-old Abdoul Aziz Sarr of Toronto.

Paramedics were flagged down near the McDonald’s at Woodward and Eastern avenues around 10:10 p.m. on July 5, leading emergency crews to respond to the scene.

At a Sunday press conference at 55 Division, Det. Sgt. Alan Bartlett said the suspect or suspects remain outstanding. No description or motive has been released.

“There were hundreds of people in the area,” Bartlett said. “If you saw something, recorded something, or know something — please contact police.”

Investigators are reviewing video from the scene and are asking anyone with dash cam, cellphone, or surveillance footage to come forward.

Police said in a news release that this is Toronto’s 19th homicide of 2025.
