Youth fatally stabbed at Queen and Coxwell; police appeal for witnesses, video

Toronto police are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a male youth was stabbed near the area of Queen and Coxwell on Saturday night.
Paramedics were flagged down at the McDonald’s on Eastern Avenue around 10:10 p.m. on July 5. The teen was rushed to a trauma centre by emergency run with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
The suspect or suspects are still outstanding, Det. Sgt. Alan Bartlett said at a news conference at 55 Division on Sunday morning. Police said there were hundreds of people in the area at the time and are urging anyone with dash cam footage, cellphone video, or surveillance from around the time of the incident to contact police.

“I would encourage you if you saw something, if you recorded something on your device, if you know something — please contact Toronto Police Service,” said Bartlett.
The Toronto police homicide unit is leading the investigation.
No suspect information has been released, and police say it’s still early in the investigation. No motive has been confirmed, and the identity of the victim has not been released as next of kin have not yet been identified.
