The Blue Crow Gallery on Gerrard Street East will kick off its 8th Annual Summer Group Show this Friday.

A cornerstone of the Toronto art scene established in 2016, Blue Crow Gallery’s summer show opens on Friday, July 4.

The exhibition will feature the works of 100 established and emerging Canadian artists, offering Torontonians a unique opportunity to support local talent and acquire exceptional contemporary art.Located in the Gerrard India Bazaar, Blue Crow Gallery has consistently championed Canadian artists.

The opening reception for the show is from 7 to 10 p.m. on July 4, and the Blue Crow Gallery is located at 1330 Gerrard St. E.

This year’s summer show serves as a testament to the gallery’s commitment to fostering the local art community and providing an accessible art purchasing experience for all.

“Now more than ever, it’s crucial to support our local businesses and artists,” said Jodi Wheeler, Toronto-based artist, owner, and operator of Blue Crow Gallery in a recent news release.

“This exhibition is a celebration of Canadian creativity, and we are thrilled to bring together such a diverse collection of works from across the country. Every piece in the show is created by local artists, with all pieces priced under $350.”

The 8th Annual Summer Group Show will run from July 4 through until Aug. 31.

This year’s show comes at a time when Canadians are increasingly seeking to support Canadian products and businesses. A recent study by Narrative Research found that seven in 10 Canadians are actively looking for Canadian products, with more than 50 per cent examining labels. The Blue Crow Gallery’s show directly addresses this desire by offering a curated selection of truly Canadian art.

Wheeler is a mixed-media artist with a BFA from York University, and Blue Crow Gallery also serves as a thriving teaching centre offering a variety of art classes and workshops for children and adults.
