Victim in fatal stabbing near Danforth and Coxwell identified as Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, 36

Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane, 36, has been identified as the victim of a fatal stabbing in the Danforth and Coxwell Avenues area on the night of Tuesday, June 17.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal stabbing last night in the Danforth and Coxwell avenues area as 36-year-old Ashkan Pournasir-Roudbane of Toronto.

The stabbing took place at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17.

Toronto police were called to the area for reports of a stabbing and found the male victim on Danforth Avenue, just east of Coxwell Avenue and west of Woodington Avenue, suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Pournasir-Roudbane is Toronto’s 16th homicide victim of the year.

In a news release on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 18, police said the victim and a man became engaged in altercation behind a plaza on the north side of Danforth Avenue.

Police have released a photo of a man they are looking for in connection with the incident.

He is described as wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweater and a black face covering.

Police are looking to identify this man in connection with a fatal stabbing in the Danforth and Coxwell avenues area on the night of Tuesday, June 17. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Police are also asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who has video surveillance or dash camera footage to contact investigators.
