Toronto East Residents for Renewable Energy to host information session in the Beach this Wednesday

Toronto East Residents for Renewable Energy (TERRE) is holding an information session about renewable energy this week in the Beach.

Featuring speaker Angela Bischoff from the Ontario Clean Air Alliance, the Renewables are Doable T.O. event is set for Wednesday, June 18, at Beach United Church from 7 to 8 p.m.

Bischoff will be speaking about solar and wind renewable energy generations options that could be used to replace East Toronto’s Portlands Energy  Centre (PEC) located in East Toronto. The PEC generates power by burning natural gas.

The Portlands Energy Centre is located on Unwin Avenue.

Those attending Wednesday’s event will also have the opportunity to meet active TERRE members who can give information on how to take local action for healthy air and clean energy.
