Man, 61, sought on three counts of assault in connection with alleged East Toronto incidents against female victims

Toronto police are looking for a 61-year-old man wanted on a number of assault charges including an alleged incident last week at Broadview Subway Station.

According to police, officers were called to the station on Broadview Avenue just north of Danforth Avenue on Thursday, June 5, at approximately 2:24 p.m. for a reported assault.

A man inside the subway allegedly assaulted a woman in the station, police said. The incident was unprovoked and the man then fled the area. The victim, who did not know the man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

In a news release on Monday, June 9, police said they are looking for the same man in connection with two other alleged assaults of female victims earlier this year.

In the first incident on Jan. 28, police alleged a man and a female victim were on a TTC bus at Woodbine station and the man assaulted the female as she exited from the bus. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening. Police said the victim and man were not known to each other.

On Feb. 27 in the Gerrard Street East and Broadview Avenue area, police alleged a female victim and a man became involved in a verbal dispute and the female was then assaulted. The victim and man did not know each other, police said. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Police are looking for Mussie Woldemariam, 61, of Toronto, in connection with the incidents. He is wanted three charges of assault and three charges of breach of probation.

An image has been released by police in the hopes someone can make them aware of Woldemariam’s whereabouts.
