Three suspects sought by police in connection with arson investigation at Pape Avenue building

A fire on Pape Avenue in East York this morning that sent three to people to hospital with minor injuries is being investigated by Toronto police as an arson.
The fire took place in a building at 836 Pape Ave., between Browning and Fulton avenues. Fire crews were called to the scene at approximately 5:20 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21.
Three people suffering from smoke inhalation were taken to hospital to be treated, and their injuries were described as minor. There was significant and obvious damage to the two-storey building’s south end.
Both police and fire investigators remained on the scene during the morning and early afternoon.
In a news release issued at at 4:04 p.m. today, police said they were looking for the public’s help identifying three suspects in connection with an “arson investigation” at the Pape Avenue building.
Police allege the three suspects broke into the location and then set a fire inside. The three suspects then fled the area, police said.
The three suspects are described as male, wearing dark pants, dark hooded sweaters, and masks on their face. They were carrying red jerry cans, police said.
