Male suspect sought after police allege van was deliberately crashed into building near Queen and Coxwell

Toronto police are looking to identify this man after a minivan was allegedly crashed into a commercial building in the Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue area on May 16.

Toronto police are requesting the public’s assistance identifying a suspect in connection with an incident in which a vehicle was allegedly driven into a building on purpose near the intersection of Queen Street East and Coxwell Avenue.

Police were called to the area on Friday, May 16, at approximately 3:35 a.m. for reports of a suspicious incident.

According to police, a man allegedly drove a grey minivan to the area and then placed a cinder block on the gas pedal and exited the vehicle. The van crashed into a commercial building and then came to a stop, police said. The man then fled the area on foot.

Police said the damage to the building was minor.

The suspect is described as 20 to 30 years-old, wearing a blue hat, black hooded sweater, white shirt, black pants and black shoes.

An image has been released by police in the hopes that someone can identify the man.
