Ashbridges Bay fireworks display in the Beach set for night of Victoria Day, May 19

Beach residents are reminded that the annual Victoria Day fireworks display at Ashbridges Bay this long weekend is set for the night of Monday, May 19.
Presented by the City of Toronto, the annual fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. sharp and is expected to last approximately 14 minutes.
The fireworks display is visible all along the Boardwalk and the Eastern Beaches, and draws huge crowds to the area to celebrate Victoria Day.
Those planning on attending are urged to use public transportation or walk to the area. Ashbridges Bay Park is located at 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E. at the foot of Coxwell Avenue at Lake Ontario.
TTC bus routes that serve the lakeshore are the 22c Coxwell from Coxwell Subway Station and the 92 Woodbine South from Woodbine Subway Station. More information about TTC schedules and routes is available on the TTC’s webpage at https://www.ttc.ca/
Those attending the Victoria Day display are being reminded by the City of Toronto that it is illegal at all times for residents to light off personal fireworks on public property, including parks and beaches.
Fireworks are also prohibited on balconies, streets, parking lots, or property not owned by the person setting off the fireworks. On Victoria Day and Canada Day only, people can set off fireworks on their own private property until 11 p.m., according to the City of Toronto’s bylaw.
In a news release on May 14, the City of Toronto said city bylaw officers and Toronto police will be patrolling parks, beaches and other areas to ensure compliance with the city’s fireworks bylaw and protect the safety of those at public gatherings over the entirety of the Victoria Day long weekend.
