Beaches Easter Parade set for this afternoon along Queen Street East

The Toronto Beaches Lions Club annual Beaches Easter Parade takes place this afternoon – Sunday, April 20.
The parade will start at Queen Street East and Victoria Park Avenue, in front of the R.C. Harris Water Treatment Plant, at 2 p.m. today (Easter Sunday). The parade will then head west along Queen Street East through the Beach, ending on Woodbine Avenue at Kew Beach Avenue.
A Beach tradition since 1967, the Toronto Beaches Lions Club has been organizing the parade since 1973.
The Grand Marshal for this Sunday’s parade will be Canadian Olympian Courtney Stott. A member of the Balmy Beach Canoe Club, Stott competed for Canada in the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2020(21) Tokyo Olympics. In Paris and Tokyo she was a member of Canada’s K-4 500-metre women’s team. Stott has also represented Canada at numerous other international events including the World Championships and Pan American Championships.
For this afternoon’s parade, Beach residents should expect a number of local road closures throughout the day on Sunday, April 20.
A full road closure is to be expected on Queen Street East as well as parts of Nursewood Road, Woodbine Avenue, and Lake Shore Boulevard East at times.
According to parade organizers, these include a partial road closure between Munro Park Avenue and Fallingbrook Road from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and a full road closure between Woodbine Avenue and Fallingbrook Road from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. there will also be full road closures on Woodbine Avenue from Queen Street East to Lake Shore Boulevard East as well as along Lake Shore Boulevard East (from Coxwell Avenue to Woodbine Avenue.)
