Two young men killed in shooting near Logan and Bain avenues

Two young men have died after being shot last night in the Withrow Park area of East Toronto.

Police were called to the area of Logan and Bain avenues at approximately 11 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, for reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived they found two male victims, believed to in their late teens or early 20s, suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the other died in hospital early this morning.

Police said they are looking for two suspects in connection with the shooting. Those suspects reportedly fled north from the shooting scene into Withrow Park, which is located just south of Danforth Avenue between Logan and Carlaw avenues.

At a media briefing on the morning of Wednesday, April 16, Toronto police said there is conflicting information regarding the suspects and investigators are still trying to determine if they are male or female.

The suspects were described as wearing dark clothing and between five-feet, five-inches and five-feet, eight-inches tall.

Police said they believe the shooting was not random. However, investigators would not speculate on whether the victims were targeted. The exact location of the shooting has still not been established.

There was an extremely large police presence in the Logan and Bain area on Wednesday with officers investigating with drones in Withrow Park, a car taped off behind police tape, and a walkway in the Bain Co-op blocked off with police tape.
