Toronto Beaches Lacrosse Club (TBLC) has a rich history of more than 50 years in Toronto. Community youth have played the game and grown into coaches, parents of new players, professional players, volunteers or all of the above!

As this year comes to a close, TBLC would like to recognize the local players and coaches that represented Ontario (at national championships and tournaments across North America) during 2024.

Girls/Women Field Lacrosse: U13 Madeleine MacPherson, Tessa Thornley, Neiva Villamizar; U15 Ayden Brady, Grace Crossland-Coghill, Mackenzie Holmes, Sydney Roedde, Taylor Thornley; U17 Laurieve Swanson, Beatrice Tamburro; U19 Zoha Lila, Danica Swistun, Charlie Holmes, Reese Boylan.

All these players represented TBLC and Ontario well at each of their tournaments.

The U19 team won bronze at the Jenny Kyle Cup in Manitoba. The U17 team were finalists in the Brogden Cup – defeating Team Japan and Team Haudenosaunee but falling to Team U.S.A.

In Boys’/Mens’ Rules Field Lacrosse: Leif Gustafsson represented U15. U13 included Andrew Wilson and Brin Mowbray. Our U13 and U15 boys had many great games against highly ranked American teams.

The U17 team won silver at Nationals and included Lucas Hadley and Maximilian Huddleston.

The U19 team included Owen Bordin-Pusey, Luke Boyden, Bennett Driscoll, Quinn Gordon, Calum Mackay and Spencer Mason. In addition, Beaches retired coach Max Perren was the head coach for the U19 team. They also went on to win the silver medal at Nationals.

In Box Lacrosse, Beaches players were represented by Hayden Butler (U15 Boys), winning gold in overtime.

Ayden Brady and Lucia Ruscitti were on U15 Girls winning silver at Nationals. The U13 Boys Box team was coached by TBLC alumni and current coaches Marcus Minichiello and Luke Coppinger, and also won gold.

Maureen Howson is a veteran volunteer of TBLC and managed/coached on U13 Boys Box and U19 Men’s Field.

TBLC says thank you to all these players and volunteers for representing our historic club on the provincial and national level!
