Beaches Presbyterian to host reading of A Child’s Christmas in Wales on Sunday, Dec. 22

Beaches Presbyterian Church will host a reading of Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales by well-known CBC broadcaster Tom Allen on the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 22.

The reading takes place from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. (intermission included).

Allen’s reading will also feature Canadian musicians and artists such as Lori Gemmell, Patricia O’Callaghan, Wes Allen, Julia Aplin, John Gzowski, and more.

Thomas’s poem A Child’s Christmas in Wales was first presented as a radio broadcast by the famed Welsh poet on the BBC in 1952. It was first published in book format in 1954, a year after Thomas’ death.

Tickets for Sunday’s reading at Beaches Presbyterian Church are $25, and all proceeds will go to the Grace Pascoe Food Bank on Main Street (at Calvary Baptist Church) in East Toronto.
