UPDATE: Woman shot and killed in East Toronto last night identified as Alisha Brooks, 34

Toronto police have identified the woman killed in a shooting last night in the Danforth and Jones avenues area.
In a news release early on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 9, police identified 34-year-old Alisha Brooks, of Toronto, as the victim of the fatal shooting.
Police were called to the Jones Avenue and Hunter Street area, south of Danforth Avenue, at 6:56 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, for reports that a shooting had taken place.
When officers arrived they found a woman suffering from gunshot injuries. She was rushed to hospital but later died. Police at the scene arrested a man and retrieved a gun.
In this afternoon’s news release, police said Aaron Shea, 33, of Toronto, has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the shooting.
Police said Brooks and Shea were known each other but did not give details in the news release of what if any relationship they may have had.
