Man, 29, sought in connection with alleged assault in area of Cosburn and Pape avenues

Toronto police are asking for the public’s assistance locating a man sought in connection with an alleged assault that took place in the Cosburn and Pape avenues area last month.

According to police, officers were called to the area at approximately 10:53 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18, regarding an alleged assault with a weapon incident.

Police said the victim and the suspect were at a community centre in the area, got into a verbal argument that became physical and that the suspect allegedly got into a vehicle, reversed it and struck the victim.

Police said the victim and suspect are known to each other.

The male suspect fled the area in a white Ford Escape with the Ontario licence plate number CYN007

Leonardo James, 29, of Toronto, is wanted on charges of assault with a weapon, possessing weapons dangerous to the public, uttering threats and failing to comply with a release order.

He is described as five-feet, seven-inches tall, with a medium build, and short black hair in dreadlocks. He was wearing a ski mask at the time of the offence.

    An image has been released by police in the hopes that someone will recognize him and make police aware of his whereabouts.
