Bilingual Girl Guides group welcoming members in East Toronto

Are you looking for a fun, exciting way for your daughter to make new friends, learn valuable life skills, and explore the world around her? Look no further than the 115 Toronto Bilingual Girl Guides Group in East Toronto, where girls in Grades 4, 5, and 6 come together to build confidence, create lasting memories, and discover their full potential.
At the Girl Guides meetings, the beauty of both of Canada’s official languages are embraced, offering a truly bilingual experience that celebrates the richness of our community.
Whether your daughter speaks English, French, or both, she’ll feel right at home in this inclusive, welcoming environment. It’s a unique opportunity to practice language skills, share cultural traditions, and make friends from all walks of life — all while having fun!
The fun never stops in Girl Guides! Every week on Thursday nights from 6:15 to 8 p.m. at Ecole Elementaire Georges Etienne Cartier on Gainsborough Road, the girls participate in a wide variety of activities designed to spark their creativity, curiosity, and teamwork.
From arts and crafts to outdoor adventures, every meeting is packed with exciting experiences. For example, one evening the group learned about fire safety and how to build fires. The girls were not only learned skills but built community within the Guide unit.
One of the favourite activities of the bilingual Girl Guides are computer, engineering, and architectural excursions. Picture this: Guides all working together at the Toronto Metropolitan University campus learning from the women engineering professors and students how to build kinetic structures, all while speaking French and English with friends!
Not to be forgotten are the camps. Last year, the girls camped at a beautiful local site, where they worked together to prepare meals over the fire, hike in the outdoors, and sing and share stories under the stars. One of the highlights was the scavenger hunt, where girls had to follow clues written in both English and French. The excitement of discovering hidden treasures, while also learning new words and phrases, made for a truly unforgettable adventure.
The girls also love taking part in community service projects, where they give back to the local community. From organizing food drives to volunteering at senior centres, these projects help the girls develop a strong sense of responsibility and empathy. They learn that making a difference in the world doesn’t have to be big — sometimes, small acts of kindness have the greatest impact.
When girls join the 115 Toronto Bilingual Girl Guides, they’re not just learning new skills, but they’re also making lifelong friendships.
The locally held meetings are designed to be fun and engaging, while also helping the girls grow in confidence, leadership, and teamwork. Whether it’s through crafts, games, or outdoor challenges, every activity helps build important life skills that will stay with them for years to come.
If you’re looking for a place where your daughter can grow, learn, and make memories in a safe, supportive, and bilingual environment, the 115 Toronto Bilingual Girl Guide group is the perfect fit.
