East Toronto residents will have a number of opportunities over the coming days and weeks to attend tree lighting ceremonies welcoming the holiday season.

On Saturday, Nov. 23, a tree lighting will be part of the celebrations during the Leslieville BIA’s 18th annual Wanderlust event.

Wanderlust goes from noon to 7 p.m. along Queen Street East between Vancouver and Booth avenues featuring treats, shopping promotions and more from the local merchants who are part of the Leslieville BIA.

The tree lighting celebration is from 6 to 7 p.m. in Leslieville Grove Park (northwest corner of Queen Street East and Jones Avenue), and will feature a visit from Santa, and live music.

The Leslieville BIA asks those planning to attend the tree lighting at Leslie Grove Park to bring a non-perishable food item to help support local food banks.

Other local tree lighting celebrations are planned for Saturday, Nov. 30, in Kew Gardens park on Queen Street East in the Beach; and at East Lynne Park on Danforth Avenue.

Also, on Thursday, Dec. 5, the Withrow Park Tree Lighting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Withrow Park is located between Logan and Carlaw avenues just south of Danforth Avenue.
