East Toronto residents are invited to an open house and meeting tonight hosted by Metrolinx to learn more about upcoming construction activities in the Carlaw Avenue and Gerrard Street East area as it relates to the Ontario Line subway project and its impact on Pape Avenue Junior Public School.

The meeting and open house is set for Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Pape Avenue Junior Public School, 220 Langley Ave.

Topics to be discussed at the meeting will include storm sewer installation and removal of existing storm sewer in the area, the installation of a combined sewer and water main in the area, the demolition of the shopping plaza at 449 Carlaw Ave., and portal construction and tunneling for the Ontario Line. The impact of all of this construction on the nearby Pape Avenue Junior Public School will also be part of tonight’s meeting topics.
