Pair of Beach churches to host Blessing of the Animals ceremonies this Sunday

Two Beach churches will be hosting Blessing of the Animals ceremonies this weekend.
St. Aidan’s in the Beach Anglican Church will host its ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 3 to 4 p.m. The church is located at 2423 Queen St. E., on the corner of Silver Birch Avenue.
St. John the Baptist Norway Anglican Church will host its ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the church parking lot. The church is located at 470 Woodbine Ave., just north of Kingston Road.
All pets brought by their owners are welcome to be blessed during the ceremonies.
The Blessing of the Animals is an 800-year-old tradition linked to the celebration of the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on Oct 4. St. Francis of Assisi is the patron saint of animals and the environment.
