The Lego Movie set for tonight in Kew Gardens as part The Beach BIA’s outdoor summer movie series

The Lego Movie will be screened tonight (Wednesday, Aug. 28) in Kew Gardens park as part of The Beach BIA’s outdoor summer movie series.

The outdoor screening starts at sunset in Kew Gardens (2075 Queen St. E.).

The screening is dependent on the weather conditions so please check in with The Beach BIA Facebook page to confirm it will be taking place.

The outdoor summer movie nights in Kew Gardens are presented every Wednesday during July and August by The Beach BIA.

After tonight’s screening, there will be only one outdoor movie showing remaining as part of this summer’s series. That final film will be The Goonies (making up for an earlier cancelled rain date) on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Those attending the movie nights at the park should bring their own lawnchairs or blankets for sitting on. There will also be music, lawn games and snacks available at the outdoor movie nights in Kew Gardens.

For tonight’s showing of The Lego Movie a number of special events are planned by The Beach BIA.

There will be Receipt Raffle for prizes from The Richards Group, Beaches Sandbox, Living Lighting, and The Burger’s Priest. Those attending the movie night should bring receipts from local stores that are in The Beach BIA area along Queen Street East between Coxwell Avenue and Nursewood Road to be eligible to win raffle prizes.

Extra fun at tonight’s screening will include a bubble machine, dance party and candy bag giveaways, said The Beach BIA.

Along with taking in the movie under the stars tonight, residents are also encouraged to visit one of the great restaurants along Queen Street East in the Beach for a meal before coming over the park.

Official sponsor for this year’s summer movies is The Richards Group.
