Man dies after being shot in area of Joseph Duggan Road and Lake Shore Boulevard East, north of Woodbine Beach
Toronto police are investigating after a man was fatally shot just north of Woodbine Beach on the night of Thursday, Aug. 8.
The shooting took place near Joseph Duggan Road and Lake Shore Boulevard East, which is southwest of Woodbine Avenue and Queen Street East, in the residential area often referred to as Pleasantville.
Police said the shooting happened at approximately 10:40 p.m.
The male shooting victim was located by first responders and taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, according to reports. The man later died in hospital of his wounds. The age of the victim has not been released by police at this point in time.
The area southeast of Boardwalk Drive and Joseph Duggan Road is blocked off by police tape, and evidence markers that appear to showing the locations of shell casings can be seen in the laneway running east off Joseph Duggan Road.

The shooting is now under investigation by Toronto police’s Homicide Unit.
At this time there is no further information on the circumstances on the shooting or on suspect descriptions.
