As several eagle-eyed readers pointed out, the archival photo in the last Deja Views was in fact taken from the northwest corner of Balsam and Pine, not from Beech and Pine.
Thanks to our avid readers who pointed out the slip-up. Here’s the updated post with the correct modern-day image.
Meanwhile, this stately home sits across the street from the fire hall on Queen Street, just east of Woodbine Avenue. The photograph was taken in 1972, and apart from the tree that was removed, not much else seems to have changed.
