police-persons of interest 2 police-persons of interest 4Police are looking for six “persons of interest” after a young man was shot and killed in an apartment building at Main Street and Kingston Road just after midnight on Sunday, Nov. 10.

Gaethan Kitadi, 20, was Toronto’s 52nd homicide of the year.

At 12:30 a.m., police responded to a shooting call at the building, and found a man in the lobby suffering from obvious injuries. Kitadi was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim had been celebrating his birthday with friends and family, but after an altercation he was shot.

Police have released security camera images of a suspect and five persons of interest, and are urging anyone who was at the birthday party who hasn’t yet spoken with detectives to contact police.

Ryan Sherwood is the latest featured member of the cast of 55 Division’s Wanted Wednesdays.

Sherwood, 25, is alleged to have broken into numerous homes along the Victoria Park Avenue area south of Danforth, and is wanted in connection with four break and enters in 55 Division and six in neighbouring 41 Division.

Sherwood is described as a white male, 5’8”, 150 lbs with short dirty blond hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on both his upper arms.

55 Division and its crime prevention officer, PC Rob McDonald, have partnered with the Beach Hill Neighbourhood Association (BHNA) to create a pair of crime prevention videos for homeowners and retail stores.

A representative from BHNA was looking at ways to spread crime prevention information to the wider neighbourhood, and with the help of the Not Pro Production Company, the videos were filmed and are now online for anyone to watch. The films were released to coincide with Crime Prevention Week.

A 37-year-old man was robbed near Kingsmount Park and Gerrard Street East on Halloween. At about 9:30 p.m., the victim was approached by two males, one armed with a sharp object and the other with a handgun. The suspects took the victim’s valuables then fled the scene.

A 4-year-old boy was sexually assaulted near Coxwell Avenue and Gerrard Street East on Halloween. The victim was assaulted by a male around 6 p.m., and required medical attention. Police are looking for a man 45 to 55 years old, 5’8” to 5’10”, with a medium build and black hair.
