This archival photograph shows a temporary road that allowed heavy trucks and equipment to reach the construction site of the R.C. Harris Filtration Plant. The date is Sept. 15, 1932, and workers had just begun to construct the facility that took nine years to complete. Work on restoration of the plant is now almost complete after the most recent six-year renovation, the fifth project at the plant since 1997. Do you have an old photograph you’d like to share?
