Police warn public about child lurer

Police are warning Beach residents about a man who twice approached 10 year-old boys he did not know and offered them a ride in his blue minivan.

The man drove up alongside different boys at 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 20 and again on Friday, June 21, in the neighbourhood around Osborne and Lyall Avenue.

Each time, the students ignored the man and kept walking. The man then drove away in an unknown direction.

The boys describe the man as white, 40 to 50 years old, with dark eyebrows and dark brown hair pulled into a ponytail. He was wearing dark sunglasses at the time.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to please call 55 Division at 416-808-5500, or to leave anonymous tips with Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www.222tips.com.
