David Bowring will be having recent paintings from his Views Along the Danforth series, in the S. W. Walter Stewart Library auditorium, 170 Memorial Park Ave., now until Dec. 31.
Bowring is a retired Anglican priest who has returned to his early love of painting. His subjects have included both secular and religious subjects, and he has participated in numerous shows, including those hosted by the Don Valley Art Club. This exhibition reflects scenes along this East End main street, from the Prince Edward Viaduct to the Access Point rooftop garden.
The Fall session of The Watercolourists recently wrapped up regular Monday evening classes at the Gardener’s Cottage in Kew Gardens. Instructor Gabriele Craig is now taking registration for the winter session that begins Jan. 7, 2013. The group meets Mondays at three different times: 10 a.m. until noon, 1 p.m. until 2:30, and 3 to 4:30. Classes are small (maximum six people) for individual attention, so registration fills up quickly. The cost is $82 for nine weeks. To register call the Beaches Recreation Centre at 416-392-9740.
