This beautiful home has the distinction of being right across the road from the Gardener’s Cottage in Kew Gardens. Consequently it sneaks its way into the background of many photos and paintings whose main focus is the Gardener’s Cottage. For example, local artist Elizabeth Berry often includes this stately house as a backdrop to her many renditions of the cottage. This photograph was taken in 1947.
