The cross-country teams at Neil McNeil have been raising the bar lately with some impressive achievements.

Coach Steve Masterson, who has been at the school for 17 years, praised the hard work of his runners for their recent results including their fifth consecutive TDCAA championship.
Other achievements this year included a third place finish at the Peter Morris Invitational with Callum Rodger finishing fourth in the Junior race; midget division third place at the McQuaid Invitational in New York; and third place at the Nike Boardwalk Relays.
The Junior Boys team won their second consecutive TDCAA championship and was led by Callum Rodger who placed second individually. The senior team, led by grade 11 student Zen Maclellan, finished in second as did the midget team.
The runners along with Masterson and coaches Jason Wood, Ashley Masterson, and Mark England headed to the OFSAA event this past Saturday.
“It’s a bigger pond with bigger fish, but we’re hoping that the midget team will finish in the top 15,” said Masterson.
