Barb Ross, a Beach painter, and George Slater, a woodcutter, have teamed up to offer a unique memento of your precious pet. Working from a photo, Slater will make a mounted woodcut likeness of your cat or dog, hand-painted by Barb. The wooden sculptures cost $40.
For more information, or to find out how to send a photo, call Barb Ross at 416-694-7261.

Cobalt Gallery, 870A Kingston Rd. presents Birds & Bloom, July 5 to August 26. It features the paintings of Micheline Beaulieau Marcotte and Louise St. Amour.

“Where else is nature so generous with colour but in the varied blooms that adorn fields and gardens alike?” asks Marcotte in her artist statement. “They are begging to be painted, and I feel compelled to oblige them.”
“I love painting birds because their antics make me laugh,” says St. Amour. “To me birds represent freedom, joy and strength.”
There will be an opening reception July 5, from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information call Cobalt Gallery at 416-694-0156, or visit cobaltgallery.ca.
